Feederbrook Farm has been passionate about yarns and fibers from the start. In the beginning all yarns produced by Feederbrook were handspun, but due to increased demand we partnered with a local fiber mill. Now most of the yarns are mill right over the line in Pennsylvania and the dyes are made in Connecticut. All the dyes that are used on the yarns and fibers meet organic trade standards and are heavy metal free.
Feederbrook is known for the 2 ply DK yarn line called “ENTROPY”. ENTROPY is deigned to mimic the look of a hand spun yarn. Dyed prior to spinning, this 2 ply Barber Pole has subtle color shifts that make it a unique gradient perfect for any knit, crochet or even woven project. Typically made in Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) ENTROPY is also spun up in Superwash Merino and the Milk and Honey blend (Merino/ Alpaca and Milk Fiber). The most popular yarn weight for ENTROPY is the DK but it is also made as a worsted and sport weight yarn as well. Colorways of ENTROPY carried by Feederbrook directly are different and exclusive then those colorways offered at your local yarn shops.
Feederbrook does make solid colors and hand painted yarns in a variety of fibers and biases. Although most of the breed specific yarns are sold as natural undyed yarns. We are excited and enthusiastic about creating and developing fun new blends and colorways. Keep checking back at the SHOP for the latest creations from the farm.
